General Employee Information
Company history
Capital Salvage as a scrap yard has been here since the 1950’s. In the late 1980’s Sylwester and Saul Dimant started scrapping in the Dimant family garage to help support their young families.
In 1992, an opportunity came along when Capital Salvage was being sold by the previous owners. The humble Dimant family went all-in and bought the business. Decades passed, grinding it out from one lot and a tiny scale, in a very rough and gritty neighbourhood. For most of our history, we have had only 1 to 3 family members on staff and 1 to 2 others.
With the unfortunate passing of the original husband and wife duo, Saul and Rosalie, Dov and Jen have stepped into their shoes. First Dov on his own, and much later, Jen. With the changing face of the neighbourhood, and our dedication to excellent, honest service, word has spread about the best kept secret in Vancouver’s metal recycling scene. Capital Salvage has grown and expanded into two lots, and a staff nearing 15 people! We strive to continue improving, growing our business and serving our community through innovation and steadfast dedication to our core values.
